Toronto FC defender Adrian Serioux hopes to make his return from injury in Saturday's crucial clash against San Jose Earthquakes at BMO Field (kick off 4:00 p.m. live on CBC). The 30-year-old has missed the last three games with a neck injury but trained with the team on Monday and Tuesday.

"It is feeling much better now although I have not really tested heading and that is what aggravated it before," said Serioux. "I will come back on Thursday and really start to test it out to see if it will hold up for Saturday. Heading makes up a big part of my game so it is very important to make sure I am ready. I don't want to have to leave the game after five minutes if it's not right."

"It's a big game and we have to win every game from here on in. I will keep working for the rest of the week and hopefully I will be good to go. I can feel perfectly fine one day but then I can wake up the next day and it is sore again, but I am working to try and strengthen it," he explained.

Serioux's return would be a boost to the Reds who are already without midfielder Amado Guevara who is away on international duty with Honduras. Toronto may also be missing midfielder Carl Robinson after he left training in Oakville on Tuesday with an injury. The medical staff will be keeping a close watch on Marvell Wynne and Stefan Frei who have not trained so far this week but are expected to return before the weekend.
