Noted as one of Major League Soccer's rising stars, Chad Barrett arrived in Toronto during the midway point of the 2008 campaign. Signed to bring an offensive punch to the club, Barrett came through and was named the team's Golden Boot winner from scoring the most goals (nine). He joined Toronto with five goals under his belt from the Fire. A few months after his arrival, Barrett signed a four-year contract extension with TFC (09/03/08), solidifying himself as a big part of the team's future. The young striker finished the 2008 season with just two cautions - a testament to his disciplined style of play. After a full pre-season with the team's Strength and Conditioning Coach Paul Winsper, expect a fitter and even more productive forward in 2009.
