MLS Experience
2007: Edu was named the Gatorade MLS Rookie of the Year. He made his MLS debut 4/25 at Kansas City after missing first few games and entire preseason with injury. Edu started 25 of 25 games and scored 4 goals, his first MLS goal was on 5/12 vs. Chicago. He earned first caps with the US National Team against Switzerland in October and South Africa in November.College
A first team NSCAA All-American and Hermann Trophy semifinalist in 2006….started 55 games in 3 seasons helping the Terps to a national championship in 2005….and NCAA semifinal appearance in 2004, and a appearance in the NCAA Sweet Sixteen in 2006….considered mainly a defensive midfielder, scored 10 goals and added 11 assists in his career….in final season – recorded 5 game winning goals….
