In his second season with Toronto FC, Carl Robinson once again proved to be an invaluable member of the squad earning the team's MVP Award for the second straight year. He did so again while splitting his time between the Wales National Team, and on October 15, he reached a milestone with Wales as he earned his 50th cap. A defensive midfield specialist, "Robbo" as he is known by his teammates has been known to play at the back at times when needed. With the team's acquisition of midfielder Sam Cronin in the 2009 MLS SuperDraft it appears Robinson will have another student to tutor, providing plenty of insight just as he did to former TFC midfielder Maurice Edu (now with Glasgow Rangers) who cited Robinson as a mentor during his time at the club.

MLS Experience

2008: Was a starter in all 27 games he played…missed games only due to international duty with Wales…scored 1 goal and 1 assist, and ranked second in the team in minutes with 2426…scored his lone goal 09/13/08 in a 1-1 draw with Columbus at BMO Field…was named team MVP for second consecutive season.

2007: Started 26 of 26 games played and finished 2nd on the team in minutes played logging 2340…scored first goal for Toronto FC 6/17 vs. FC Dallas in what was the team's largest victory all season ending with a 4-0 finish, it was also a massive game for Robinson who finished the game with 4 points, picking up two assists besides his goal, setting up both Danny Dichio, and Jeff Cunningham…scored 2nd goal on the road 9/29 at D.C. United, a beautiful curling free kick in a 4-1 loss….finished the year with 4 assists tied for the most with Ronnie O'Brien…recorded first assist 5/12 vs. Chicago Fire in what was the team's first victory, setting up Maurice Edu for his first goal…was named team's co-MVP along with Jim Brennan upon completion of 2007 season.

Other Pro Experience

1995-2002: Joined Wolverhampton Wanderers (League Championship) as a trainee when he was just 18 years old…played his first match for Wolves during the 96-97 season and remained with the club for six more seasons…in 98-99 he scored 8 goals in 34 games, his best offensive showing in his time with the club….played a total of 163 games for Wolves with a total of 19 goals…International: First represented Wales playing with the U-21 squad….made his full debut for his country in March 2001 in their World Cup Qualifying match against Ukraine….his play in that game at Millenium Stadium had him named "Man of the Match"…capped 45 times for Wales, helping them compete in Euro 2008 qualifying, missed 4 TFC games due to international duty…competed in FIFA 2010 WCQ matches and on 10/15/08 picked up his 50th cap for his country.
