Launched in 2008, the TFC Academy’s goal is to provide the most talented, committed and dedicated soccer players in the country an opportunity to receive advanced coaching instruction within the TFC Academy.

The Academy provides those players an identified path of growth that will ideally lead them to the Toronto FC 1st Team. The Academy Program is also unified in the continuous education of its coaches and players to maintain a high level of knowledge of the game while at the same time, never loosing sight of good character, judgment, honesty and fair play.

The TFC Academy operates under the key belief of providing elite young Canadian soccer players with an opportunity to reach their full technical, tactical, mental, and physical potential with Toronto FC – regardless of their economic situation. During the early stages, focus is firmly placed on the development of the individual and as the players mature, that focus shifts to the development of teams for a higher level of play.

Both the long and short-term goals of the Academy are simple – to produce stability and continuity in the development of players in Canada by creating a formative and structured path from the introduction of the game to the 1st team environment. While doing so, the TFC Academy hopes to create athletes who are comfortable with and understand what is required of them to perform successfully at the highest level.
