Earl Cochrane – Academy Director / Manager of Team Operations – Toronto FC

A resident of Toronto, ON, Cochrane is an original member of Toronto FC’s front office, joining the team in July 2006 as the club's Manager of Team Operations. In April 2007 Cochrane was named TFC Academy Director and in addition to his existing role within Team Operations, oversees Toronto's player development program. Prior to joining the Major League Soccer club, Cochrane worked for the Canadian Soccer Association as the National Teams Manager from January 2001 before taking over the role of Director of Communications in late 2005; a role he had held at DC United for two years before returning to Canada.

The Scarborough, ON native was a four-time OUA All-star and a two time all-Canadian defender at Carleton University (1989-94). Cochrane also played professionally in Asia before moving to Washington, DC in 1999. He also holds a Masters degree from the University of Toronto.



Stuart Neely – TFC Academy Head Coach / Academy Junior Team Head Coach

Neely comes to the TFC Academy with several years international coaching experience with Canada’s National youth teams – U-17, and U-20 – and holds his Canadian “A” License (UEFA B equivalent), High Performance Coaching Degree from the National Coaching Institute as well as a Masters in Physical Education and is a Chartered Professional Coach with Sport Canada.

His knowledge of the game in Canada ranges from the local Club to the Provincial, National and International level. This has led him to a variety of positions with clubs as well as the Ontario Soccer Association as Director of Player Development where he served for 5 years; then moving to The Canadian Soccer Association where he served as their Technical Programs Manager from 1998 to 2003. From there he moved west to Winnipeg, where he joined the Manitoba Soccer Association as the High Performance Program Manager until September of 2005. After a short stint in Europe, he returned to Canada and joined Toronto FC.


Jason Bent – TFC Academy Senior Team Head Coach

Bent, a Brampton native, brings a wealth of experience having played internationally and within Major League Soccer. His last professional club was Plymouth Argyle of the Championship in England where he played three seasons (2001-2004). Prior to that Bent became one of the first young Canadians to be signed by an MLS club when the Colorado Rapids inked him to a two year contract in June of 1998.

Bent is one of the few players to have played at every level for Canada – U-17, U-20, U-23, and Senior Men’s. He finished with 32 Caps, and was a member of the 2000 CONCACAF Gold Cup winning squad. Bent has a UEFA Level 2 Football Certificate.
